In furtherance of these goals, the Sertoma Club of Nashville sponsors the annual Williams/Patton Sertoma Freedom Essay Scholarship Contest. Each year, high school seniors are invited to write essays on a given topic concerning freedom. The essays are judged and scholarships are awarded to the top four essays. The winner receives a $3,500.00 scholarship. The three runners-up received scholarships of $2,000.00 each. The schools of the top four winners receive $100.00 cash awards and a framed copy of the Declaration of Independence.

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 11/7/14)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) encourages entries to the 2015 Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest, sponsored by the Religious Liberty Council of the Baptist Joint Committee (BJC). High school juniors and seniors can win up to $2,000 for college by writing an essay examining an employer’s ability to dictate an employee’s attire, including religious apparel that an employee requests to wear on the job.
